Elon Musk's Starlink has cleared a critical regulatory hurdle in India, obtaining a license from the Department of Telecommunications. The approval positions the satellite internet provider to enter India's $25 billion broadband market, joining Eutelsat's OneWeb and Reliance Jio as licensed operators.

Delays since 2022 stemmed from national security reviews, while Amazon's Kuiper remains pending approval. India's vast population and growing economy present a significant growth opportunity for satellite internet services.
